Re: How do you understand a failed IDoc

Yacine,

You can start by entering the term "failed IDoc" in the search box at the upper right of this page, and then reviewing the hundreds of postings in these forums where the subject has already been discussed.

Idocs have been developed by SAP to cover all common data exchange requirements.  It is beyond the scope of an SCN forum to describe the entire library of IDocs, how they might fail, and what methods would be appropriate to correct the failures.

You might want to familiarize yourself with basic IDoc functionality, by reviewing help.sap.com.  Try IDoc Interface/ALE - SAP Library to start.

Here are some courses you might find useful:

https://training.sap.com/shop/course/bit300-application-link-enabling-ale-technology-classroom-095-us-en/

https://training.sap.com/shop/course/bc420-data-transfer-classroom-093-us-en/

If you have a SPECIFIC question about a SPECIFIC failure of a SPECIFIC IDoc type, we may be able to be of some assistance......

I am new to SAP project implementation, I am planning to become Functional consultant.

I came to know that during requirement gathering we follow As is Process and To be Process documentation.

I would like to learn how to prepare these document and what and all we have to capture in these documents.

Could you please share some sample As is Process and To be Process document, it would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks and Regards

How to take Report formats in FI & MM ?

As we are in the process of implementation in Blueprint Phase, we want to check the SAP report formats to match with our existing report formats. Can anybody suggest how to take the report format or is there any solution to match the report format in SAP?

You have to interact with your client, for which kind of report he wants, reports can be different as per the implemented project and industry type.

Actually this is for implementation purpose only. Client wants to check the standard reports in FI with their legacy system reports to decide whether they can go with only standard reports or they need to customize some reports based on their requirements.

Without loading the data, we can't take any reports in FI, so i asked whether there is any template or method to take the report formats to give it to the client for matching.

For reports formats you can use the Transaction code "SAP1" & "SAP2"

Hi,

You can get all the report related to FI & MM in the following path :

SAP Easy Access--> Information Systems --> Accounting --> Financial Accounting -->Accounts Payable

Hi,

For implementation of SAP we use ASAP Methodology, may I know which Methodology is used to implement SAP HANA. Please give a detailed description.

Thanks in advance

Siva,

ASAP methodology is a framework to manage any implementation.  Since you say you already use it for your SAP implementations, you should probably also choose it for your HANA implementation.

Bex Analyzer automation

Hi,

I would like to automate Bex analyzer 7.3. Is it possible to add corresponding add ins to certain workbook, automate logon, set filter parameters and refresh it to retrieve updated data? If yes, can anyone give me more details, information on how to actualy do that. Are there any tutorials, articles, etc.?

Hello Sandi,

What exactly do you want to do/expect for this workbook?

Everything that you mentioned exist if on BW.

For instance:
> Automate logon -  You can use transaction RRMXP. Put the workbook ID and it will logon automatically.

> Set filter and refresh -  Basically, when you refresh a workbook, all workbook filters are refreshed.
You can use a variable to setup a specific filter.
For this variable, you can create a customer exit and will populate automatically the variable value.

Another thing.
You can broadcast a workbook to an email.
You can create the broadcast setting, select the variables and schedule to send data to your email everyday.

Kind Regards,
Edward John

Hello,

Thanks Edward.

I'm talking about BI, I would like to retrieve sales forecast for a certain time span and then create a report.

So basically what I have in mind, let's say

I would like to write a script that will open a workbook (which is designed/templated to work with bex analyzer) and write vba code to do logon on server. After successful logon I would like to set up a filter with multiple criteria and refresh the workbook to get updated results. Close it. And then use retrieved data in some other workbook to generate the report. But that's not an issue anymore.

Depends on the level of fidelity you are looking for and automation that is built in. I have seen project teams using tools like Balsamiq when they worked on screen wire frames. That may be an option for you.
