For my requirement, I had got an Access key to modify 8309/8310 and yes you will get this from the BASIS team.
My requirement was to Add few Fields and a Table Control to Contract Header and Few Fields at Item level. Screen 8309/8310 helps you add fields in a New Additional Tab in Header. To add fields to a New Additional tab at Item Level use screen 8459/8460. I created a Custom transparent Table in which I had saved Contract Key Fields and Custom Fields. And to display the same I had fetched from the same table by reading data using key fields of VBAK. You do not need to Modify VBAK.
